![]() | Equine partner Mr John R. Morris Qualification: BVM&S MRCVS Mr Morris qualified from Edinburgh in 1984 and was part of a post-graduate expedition to Botswana. On return he spent 3 years in a large animal and equine practice in Somerset before returning to the surgery department in Edinburgh in 1988. He joined the practice in 1991 with special interests in equine surgery and lameness. |
| | Equine Vet Mr James D. Wallace Qualifications: BVMS GPCert EqP Cert EM(int med) MRCVS Nominated for Equine Vet of the Year 2009 Jamie graduated from Glasgow University in 1998. After 18 months in mixed practice in Aberdeenshire he moved to East Yorkshire doing first opinion equine work in a busy mixed practice. During the 4 years in Yorkshire he completed an ESVPS certificate in Equine Practice, this being awarded in November 2004. He completed his RCVS certficate in internal medicine in 2011. His main interests are in equine internal medicine, endocrinology and equine dentistry. As a father of 2 young children he has no spare time, but when he can he tries to relax with martial arts (Aikido and Jujitsu) and walking his two insane Labradors! |
| | Equine Vet Miss Kate L. Smith Qualifications: BVMS CertEP MRCVS Kate graduated from Glasgow University in 2004. She then spent a year in West Sussex doing an equine internship in a large equine hospital where she was responsible for anaesthesia, scintigraphy, frozen AI and care of the in-patients. Kate joined the practice in 2005 when she returned home to Ayrshire. She still has a keen interest in equine reproduction, neonatal medicine and anaesthesia. In 2009 Kate passed her RCVS certificate in equine practice. Before university Kate was a keen rider and used to compete locally in PC/RC competitions. Currently Kate only has a Shetland Pony, but one of these days she swears she is going to get back into eventing! |
| | Equine Yard Staff Mrs Lyn Reid Lyn has been with the practice since 2006, and has over 40 years of experience working with horses. She takes great care of the equine inpatients whilst they stay at the hospital, helping them feel at home. She also helps the vets by handling the horses during procedures. Lyn is also responsible for keeping the outside of the practice tidy, and is often seen with a brush in the car park! |

| | Administration Assistant Miss Sally Ann Ross Sally Ann has worked here for many years, and deals mainly with Equine & Small Animal accounts. She owns a cat, and a dog that she regularly shows. She is also a keen gardener. |
| | Administration Assistant Mrs Yvonne Officer Yvonne joined the Practice in 2006, after relocating from Perth. She completed a Business and Administration NQ at Perth College in 2004. She enjoys all aspects of working in the large animal office. She has enjoyed creating this website, and designed the practice brochure. She is the proud owner of a boxer cross dalmatian called Inja, who keeps her fit! She also owns a corn snake called Algernon! |
| | Administration Assistant Mrs Amy Howie Amy has joined the practice to cover Yvonne while she is on maternity leave. Amy is orginally from Dundee and relocated here after getting married. She is enjoying working in the office. She doesn't own any pets at the moment but hopes to get a rabbit soon. |
![]() | Equine Vet Miss Mhairi Mackay Qualifications: BVMS MRCVS Mhairi is originally from East Kilbride. During her time at Glasgow Vet School she saw much of her work experience here at the practice. After graduating in 2006, Mhairi moved to Yorkshire where she worked in a mixed practice for 1 year before joining an equine practice in Lancashire where has been based for the last 4 years. During this time Mhairi has been working toward gaining a Royal College Certificate in Equine Internal Medicine which she hopes to complete later this year. |
