 Small Animal Partner Mr Alexander McKenzie
Qualifications: BVMS Cert V Opthal MRCVS
Sandy graduated from Glasgow in 1979. After a year as a house surgeon at Glasgow University, he spent 14 months in South Africa. He joined the practice in 1981 and quickly developed an interest in opthalmology. In 1990 he became a holder of the RCVS Certificate in Opthalmology and he has been on the BVA Eye Panel since 1994. He offers an opthalmology referral service to practices in the surrounding area.
 

 Small Animal Vet Mrs Sarah Guthrie
Qualifications: BVMS MRCVS
Sarah qualified from Glasgow in July 2004. She worked at McKenzie, Bryson & Marshall briefly that year, then moved to Leighton Buzzard for three years, where she worked in a mixed practice.
She moved back to Kilmarnock in 2007 and now exclusively deals with small animals at work, with a particular interest in surgery.
Sarah owns two cats and a dog, all saved through work, and a horse called Kite!
 Small Animal Vet Mrs Jean Wallace
Qualifications: BVMS MRCVS
Jean graduated and joined the practice in 1981.
She originally started doing farm animal work. She went part time once she had her sons, and focused more on small animal work when she came back.
 Small Animal Vet Mrs Judy Morris
Qualifications: BVSc MPhil Cert VR MRCVS A1 Assessor
Judy graduated from Liverpool University in 1987. After 2 years in small animal practice she did a 3-year residency in small animal medicine at Edinburgh University Veterinary School. While at Edinburgh she gained a M.Phil into current tests for intestinal function and a certificate in veterinary radiology. She has worked at the practice in Kilmarnock since 1993, initially full time but now part time.
Judy has recently developed an interest in acupuncture and uses it to benefit dogs, cats and horses.
 Small Animal Vet Mrs Katy Garven
Qualifications: BVMS, Cert VC, MRCVS
Katy joined the practice in 1996 as a new graduate from Glasgow, working full time in the small animal department. She gained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 2002. In 2004, Katy left full time work to bring up two children.
She is now working part time, dealing with small animal and equine cardiac cases and offering a cardiology referral service to local practices.
 Head Vet Nurse Mrs Marion Brown
Qualifications: VN EVN A1 Assessor
Nominated for Vet Nurse of the Year 2009
Marion joined the practice in 1995 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998. She is involved with both the equine and the small animal patients.
As well as her clinical work, she is also our veterinary nurse assessor, with the responsibility of training student nurses. She has a keen interest in laboratory work and cytology.
Marion co-runs the Equine First Aid courses within the practice, and enjoys helping our clients!
At home she enjoys her time off with her Jack Russel, horses, two cats and a field full of cows!
 Vet Nurse Miss Kirsty Hannah
Qualifications: VN
Kirsty joined the practice in 2003 on placement from Barony College. She became a full time employee of the practice in September 2004 and qualified as a nurse in August 2005. She gained her diploma in vet nursing January 2010.


 

 
Vet Nurse Miss Siobhan Hollas
Siobhan joined the practice in August 2007 as an Animal Care Assistant, after completing her HND Animal Care at Barony College. She qualified as a Vet Nurse in November 2010.
She enjoys all areas of her role within the team, but especially enjoys caring for the animal post operative.
Siobhan owns a collie cross called Ben and enjoys riding her horse Woodie!
 
Animal Nursing Assistant Ms Ainslie Pollock
Ainslie has been at the practice for over three years. She started with us as a College placement for animal care, and when the course was finished she was employed full time.
Ainslie's main job is to look after all the inpatients during their stay and assist the nurses and vets with daily procedures. She finds her job very rewarding as she gets to work closely and care for all the animals.


 Receptionist Mrs Ann Muirhead
Ann joined the practice in 1998 after completing a university degree in business.
 Receptionist Mrs Aileen Ryan
Aileen joined the practice in 2001. Initially this was only for 3 months cover but fortunately she was kept on!
Prior to joining the practice she worked as an accounts clerkess for eleven years before leaving to bring up her two children. Whilst bringing up her family she did an Open University course for pre-school children.
At the moment Aileen has two guinea pigs and 1 rabbit, although she is used to dogs as her sister owns six! She enjoys going to watch agility shows in her spare time, as her niece runs three border collies.
 Receptionist Mrs Janice Hannah
 Receptionist Mrs Gillian Howatson
Gillian joined McKenzie, Bryson & Marshall in November 2008 as one of the reception team.
She was already well acquainted with the practice, having attended with a menagerie of pets over the years, including cats, goats, ferrets, rabbits and guinea-pigs!
She has also been involved with showing, breeding and judging Labradors.
Gillian now has two crazy boxer girls, who are mother and daughter, and they take up most of her free time, space and money!
